For industry-initiated / industry-sponsored clinical trials only

The Northern Alberta Clinical Trials and Research Centre is hosting a one day hands-on, interactive seminar on clinical trials budgeting. This seminar was created for clinical researchers, study coordinators, research assistants, administrators, and finance managers to enhance their skills in budgeting, negotiating and overall financial management of clinical trials. The seminar is intended for beginner and intermediate skilled research staff involved in industry-initiated / pharma-sponsored (not PI/grant supported) clinical trials and finance management.

Attendees will be led by a team of experts in clinical trials budgeting who will share their experience, knowledge, lessons learned and tips. The format of the seminar will be a mixture of lectures, individual work, one-on-one guidance and group discussion. A sample protocol, mock sponsor budget template and contract financials terms will be used as tools to guide individuals through analyzing the budget requirements, preparing a counter-offer, negotiating a Win-Win solution, and managing the study budget from contract execution to study conclusion.

After taking this seminar, attendees will be able to effectively analyze, negotiate and maintain a financially sustainable clinical trials budget and enhance the use of existing site budget tools and a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS). The entire seminar must be attended to receive a course certificate.
