Clinical Trials and Point of Care Testing (POCT) Units moving to the Cross Cancer Institute Site!

As part the continual growth of our services and review of our laboratory space at the University of Alberta Hospital site, both the Clinical Trials and Point of Care Testing (POCT) units will be relocated to the Cross Cancer Institute site.

This will allow Laboratory Services to make room for the Expanded Newborn Metabolic Screening Program at the UAH Site and to strategically move towards consolidation of current services which aligns with our functional programming for Edmonton Hub Lab move.

Essential staff and resources will remain on site at the UAH to ensure quality patient care and Clinical Trials services are available for all users of the POCT and Clinical Trials units.

We have formed working groups to develop detailed transition plans that will be working closely with our stakeholders, customers, and clients for the POCT and Clinical Trials unites to ensure that no service disruption occurs. We will release additional information as the move dates (projected goal September 1, 2018) and details regarding any changes in process of accessing POCT and Clinical Trials services over the next few months.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly with any concerns you might have.
